Again we see a buffer edge around the pool made of stepping stones placed on a gravel bed. Besides creating a walkway in the landscaping and buffer between lawn clippings and the pool, it also creates a displacement for water that overflows or is splashed out of the pool. The gravel underneath the stepping stones keeps the water from becoming mud puddles in the lawn.
While this pool landscaping is not of a tropical nature, careful attention has been paid to the types of plants used. They are mostly evergreens with few flower petals or trees to drop leaves and debris into the pool.
